We'll put that one squarely in the 'luck' category. Maybe even 'good luck.' It could have been anyone who pulled me out of that portal, but it was someone with just enough self-restraint to not slice the hand off wayward wizard in a tight spot. I can't say all our companions would have done the same.

Good luck is one way to put it. Don’t know about self-control. It seemed so ludicrous and yet I wanted it, same as the other urges.

It’s a wonder Alfira has been the only casualty.

It's unfortunate what happened to her, but if nothing else, it served as warning to the rest of us to keep an eye on you at night. I'm not sure how much that has helped our chances of survival, but given the circumstances, I'd rather err on the side of caution.

Perhaps, though I get the distinct feeling finding such a solution will require more time than we currently have. At least there's no shortage of individuals in our camp who are fighting a desperate, almost primal hunger of some sort. You're in good company.
