[The Urge snaps its teeth together in a toothy, bloody grin as it tries to gain purchase in the mud beneath it, but the struggle has started to truly exhaust the body housing two souls. The Urge slips, drops it against the tree and the shock of pain is enough for Tav to surge forward and take control. His eyes remain glazed over, but he's present enough to at least recognize Gale.
Gods be damned, he's freezing. The pelting rain combined with the fever the Urge brings on and the blood loss, he's shivering and trying to focus is taking more out of him than he expected.]
Gale. [He at least wants to say his friend's name one more time, should the elements and the Urge take him down. What he realizes, though, is that saying his friend's name is like a beacon in the night, a lighthouse on the coast.[ Gale.
Yes! [ Gale steps forward, as if to go to Tav's side, then thinks better of it. He's not out of the hole yet, and Gale rather likes his organs inside his body. Better to keep a safe distance until this unpleasant urge has fully passed. ]
Excellent, but something tells me we're still in the thick of it.
[ It doesn't take a physician to tell when something's in there with Tav — and not the worm. Judging by the glassy look in his eyes, it hasn't quite left. ]
Keep focusing. Keep control. You're more than capable.
I’m trying. [Tav grits out in between his teeth as he watches Gale move. Staying anchored on the wizard seems to help quash down the Urge’s desire for blood. Even as he keeps his gaze focused on a very living and intact Gale, the Urge paints image after image of a gore covered Gale and it takes everything in Tav’s waning strength to keep ahead of it.]
It really wants you dead. [Tav pants out, adjusting himself against the tree and suffering more blood draining down his side.] Suppose that’s flattering in its own way.
[In a sorry the god of murder wants you extra special dead with your insides on the outside way.]
[ Gale squints. 'Flattering' is certainly an optimistic way to put it. ]
Charmed as I am, [ he says, decidedly not charmed by the whole thing, ] I assure you there's far less lethal ways to butter me up.
[ He's so easily flattered — by anything but this. Besides, Tav's urges are hardly special. He's not the first to want to bash Gale's head in, and he likely won't be the last. After all, Gale can be incredibly annoying.
He gives Tav a pointed look. ] And I don't think you're in any state to decorate the camp with my insides, if you'll pardon my saying so. [ He takes a small, cautious step closer. ] Your injuries are only getting worse.
Aware of that too. [Tav is sweating up a storm, paling with each push and kick if his body. He won’t last much longer like this and clearly Gale can see it too. The rain can’t keep up with the deluge of blood draining Tav of energy and life.]
If I… there are rituals you need to follow. Don’t let my body fall into Bhaal’s hands.
You're far more deranged than I previously thought if you think I'm simply going to stand here, twiddling my thumbs, and watch you bleed out.
[ He's no cleric, but how hard can it be to attempt basic first aid? Far stupider than him have done it, surely. ]
If you can control yourself, we'll get you into my tent and I'll do what I can. In the morning, when you've full control of your faculties again, Shadowheart will see to you.
You can always talk to Withers. [Tav is desperate to keep himself awake with little inappropriate bits of humor. He doesn’t mean to hit so ma y of Gale’s sore spots at once, but Tav feels as if he’s moments away from bleeding his last drop. Not that humor will save him, but it might keep him awake just long enough to reach dawn.
He thinks he can see the first rays, but those could be a play on rain-soaked and blood-drained body.]
There it is now. [Tav murmurs as his head drops to his shoulder, breath slowing and eyelids lowering to half-mast.]
